“wherever the wind blows”
Really? Doesn’t this seem like a crazy phrase that means unpredictable or wild? (Knowing me, perhaps this does not seem too far off…)
In the ancient Greek world, one of the four main temperament types was characterized by wind– joyful, enthusiastic, and all over the place! Yet interestingly enough, the word for wind in Scripture is the same word used to describe the breath of God…and the Holy Spirit. It resonates with me, for sometimes the Holy Spirit calls us to unpredictable places, but makes the direction so clear that we cannot help but know we have received a call to follow. And while this direction might be unpredictable to me, everything about the vision of my Father’s Spirit is intentional. He is wild, my friend, but He really is so good. So, thank you for joining me in this heart-space, going wherever the Spirit goes.
